SAP SNOTE overview process control screen using OSS note 2121295 to demonstrate
In recent versions of SAP's OSS note transaction SNOTE they have added a process overview type screen
which shows you all the steps you will need to do in-order to implement the note. This includs all pre-requisite notes,
executing programs for this or other notes and performing manual changes. Not only that it the arrow arrow at
the start of the row shows you which step you are currently on and takes you through each step explaining what
you need to do before progressing to the next step.
In-order to demonstrate this i am going to use note 2121295 as an example. So when you click the process button
within SNOTE you get the following screen which shows you that you have got two steps.
The first being to allow SNOTE to create a new program and the second for you to execute it. The lorry/truck icon denotes
that there is some manual intervention required by yourself. I.e. execute the program!!
In-order to process the first step simply press continue and you will get the usual create/change object dialog. The traffic light should be green so press the green tick to let SAP create the object.
Once the first step is complete you will be returned to the overview screen with the first step ticked.
You will also notice the arrow has moved to the second step denoting this is the one you are on now.
For this step you just need to execute the newly created program RPUNTEG0_2121295 via your usual transaction such as SE80 or SE38. Once you
have done this simply tick the complete box on this step and press continue and you are done.
Obviously other notes may be much more complex than this with many more steps
but this shows you the concept which will be the same for all. OSS note 2104126 has three
steps, still fairly straight forward but demonstrates how this new technique handles
notes that require you to create objects manually.
